124 front inner wheel arch liners?

Collected my inner arches today for the 4matic ......

Finally got around to fitting these today. The LH/NS one went straight on with no drilling, heaving or shoving. The RH/OS one had no locating holes on the car, apart from the one on the existing inner arch. 5 minutes with sharp drill and some universal black plastic pop in rivets and the job is done. Both sides I had to anchor the lower front with a heavy duty tie wrap (unseen) either that or it would be fabricate a bracket. They are not to clear to see in the pics. But they look good with louvers and cover the inner side of the front bumper and anti-roll bar. Thanks to Alan (Syncropaddy) for the assistance.

You're not missing anything. It's the way they are I'm afraid and one major reason why all good 124s come with rotten front wings.

I'm told you could once get extensions to cover the area but good luck finding them now.

Roadhog. What a brilliant thread you have posted here. I am reading it. Then re-reading it. Then reading it again. Thank you.

Have you looked at the same chap's C124 thread - he fits a diesel engine - similarly brilliant.

I ordered a pair of the arch pieces on Thursday - I expected the dealer to tell me they (or one of them, anyway) are unavailable but apparently they are on back-order.

I completely forgot I'd ordered these - and so had the dealer as they didn't call - but I picked them up today. It looks like they had been at the dealer since late November judging by dates on labels - but if anybody else wants them, it's worth trying ordering, as they are not listed as NLA.

I've yet to install properly, but certainly when popped into position it no longer looked incomplete!

Folks

Does anybody know, or can tell me, if the front inner arch liners on a 124 stop at the bumper height. As I look into the wheel arch, while standing behind the wheel, I can see the inside of the bumper apron? I wondered if this was correct or, am missing a bit of trim? It is the same on both sides.
These are available from Mercedes part numbers are A12488400335 and A12488400435 £81 a pair

Jefft280 This is an old post going back to 2017 . For these -Breakers yard first stiop /
If you have ever replace front wings on the W124 you would see the reason why the wings go bad .Reason is the wings only get treated through the marker light hole ..they myst just put the sealsnt gun through the hole and givr it a squirt . I replaced both wings on mine .And before fitting them on to the car i coated the wings and the body with rust treatment 1/4 thick. [.see the liner location ]DSC04408.JPG
