Yeah, I'd just get one from a W210 or 202. Don't know if there were an option but my old W124 didn't have one.

You are probably right, but how are these mounted, drill and tap through the tunnel! Thought there may be some mounting points. What do the other models have for a mounting details?

No drilling. From what I recall the mounting clips are attached to the carpet only, maybe reinforced in some way behind the carpet. I don't have my 202 with me sorry, thus I can't check it you.
