another one from sweeden by the looks of it.

YouTube - mercedes petre turbo 652hp

wonder what it handles like, mine is a handful now Ive removed the drive train flex, if the power claimed by this is true, it must be 'difficult' to drive quick.

Perhaps he should consider sorting out his duff headlight first ...

You know more about TT'ing these than most , do you think 650 bhp + is feasable ?

not sure, roman has claimed 600+ hp many times. im think the engine is strong enough and they do use big turbos, and better inlet manifolds. and claim to be running 25 or 30 psi.

the issues i have with there claims are as Ive said before, the std merc fuel lines wont support the flow that these guys would need for the power they claim, especially if they are using e85, which requires 30% more flow.

and i know from my injector size and pulse width i am running, my engine is producing somewhere around 400 bhp, and my chassis does not inspire me to want to add another 200 bhp.

ill health has stopped me fitting all the new poly suspension bushings i have, so maybe things will improve, the new engine mounts have made a significant improvement.

652bhp is nuts, but whats his torque output? If the car is setup to utilise all that 652bhp at the top end of the rev range, then the car should be fine to drive normally. If he has stupid amounts of torque, then all the car will be good for is just spinning wheels. Im sure you definately need all that electronic stuff (what the C63 and the likes have) to keep the traction down, especially when your dealing with that much amount of power. Otherwise its a bit of a waste just burning up rubber right? lol

Nick, totally agree with you regarding the fuel lines and flow. Hopefully Ed will give his input on this too.

ed has stuck to the std tt system and modernised it with a split second controller, the std lines are adequate to cope with those requirements.

i have used a pair of bosh 044 pumps in line and bigger lines, with an aeroquip pressure regulator set at 43psi above atmosphere, so my fuel system is OK for my needs.

i was just repeating my point i have made before, that these guys claim massive power, but dont ever mention upgrades to there fuel delivery.

roman printed a picture recently of two 044 pumps, in parrallel, but he'd used the std tank bung, which only has a 12 mm opening, wich wont support two 044 pumps. he had also used small tight 90 degree bends, which i didn't think would support the flow he wanted for e85 fuel.

I guess with these things its all about experimenting and you only learn from it when something goes pop.

Whatever it has in it - can't deny it sounds lovely and is pretty damned quick too lol

I'll keep out of the tech talk though, I have no idea about fuel lines etc :D
