not sure where to post this, so sorry if it in wrong place.

my friends r129 has a problem with the passenger window not raising square, and becoming stuck before it is fully closed.

having removed the door pannel, it canbe seen that it has developed a loose window motor on the passenger side, the rivets that hold the motor to the door have worked loose, is this a common fault, any hints on how to fix it?
cheers

Sounds a bit like a 124 coupe arrangement. The solution is to order the correct rivets from MB off the chassis number, drill out and replace one at a time, and, seemples !

Hi. I had a similar issue until......

I bought a spray can of RS PTFE lubricant.

RS | Workshop Consumables | Lubricants, Greases and Cutting Fluids | Precison Lubricants | Dry Film - PTFE and Molybdenum

There's a lot of rubber around the doors and windows and after a while they become hard and a bit sticky too. I thought it might be a sensor problem but after spraying the door rubber seal, the window scrapers and everything else black and rubbery with this gear, the window has been moving without any problems.

While you're at it, do yourself a favour and treat ALL the rubber seals on the car (Doors, windows, boot, bonnet) with this and that's a job well done. If it's going to be done, don't miss the rubber under the doors. Really work it in with a cloth and clean the nozzle every now and then as the propellant tends to freeze and block the jet.

Sincerely in rubber,

Silver, H.H, Monsieur.
