anyone know much about the c/l system on an early 129 ?

mine is all b*ggered up - the drivers door will not lock by the key or remote.
neither of the door pockets will open
the lower stowage dash panel (wood) won't open
the boot and pasenger door dont talk to each other.
to lock the car i have to climb across the passsenger side, push the drivers door button down, then lock with the key on the passenger side.
to get in, reverse the procedure, then the damned alarm goes off and i have to point the key at the boot sensor to kill it
grrrrrrr

the locking is run by a pneumatic/vacuum pump in the o/s of the boot area. they do fail, but first give all those fuses in the boot a twirl. they may look ok but suffer terrible corrosion in this area. good luck.

The pump i can hear running ok, thanks though.

Am wondering if when the door card was previously removed by others they have b*ggered up the locking bar from the drivers side as you cannot turn the lock with the key, only operate it manually with the inside button.

Going to have a look this weekend once I've worked out how to get the door card off.

Doesn't necessarily mean that it's sookin and blawin all the same. Or there may be a pipe off it. If you're in there see if you have a part No.
