Not really.... what cars don't do that, and more, now? The cars usually fall apart or the electrics fail long before engines fail these days. (that said it might not be the same for the latest generation of small capacity, high boost engined).
I have a 2.0 derv Alfa with 174,000 miles, at work I have two much abused Astra vans, one with 184,000 and the other with 169,000m. My Ranger has 150,000 miles ish. We have a Mk7 2017 Golf with 212,000 miles on too!! (driven from Bridport to Chichester and back most days). The ALFA aside none of these cars are loved....I only noticed the other week that my Ranger that spends most of its life towing, has somehow not had an oil change for nearly 4 years... lol.
Modernish lumps are pretty indestructible....Mercedes or not.

Not original engine... but even so...
While they will go on forever, if anyone can be bovvered to maintain them...

There's still a case for buying lower mileage because it'll be easy to sell on, with barely any depreciation, and having swerved renewal of a few "bits n bobs."
