You may have seen various references to the dodgy aftermarket parktronic retrofit that was put into my partners new SLK, when the deal was supposed to be as per factory install.
Well, I met with the General Manager of the dealership group last Friday, and he explained how expensive it would be to retrofit a factory system. When it was clear that I was not backing off, he accepted that they needed to do it, and today I had a call from their workshop manager to let me know they had started working out the parts for the retrofit (including the lever for the voice control which was missed from the COMAND retrofit) and these would be ordered in the next day or so, and then we could get the car booked in.
Now, I know this is not sorted yet, but I am quietly confident that we will get the result.
