Amg monoblock spec is as follows 8j front and 9j rear,am I correct?
If someone states that they are 8.5j all around they would be a replica?
Thanx

Are you talking about the car or the wheels being replica?

Are you talking about AMG styling II rims? 8 front/9 rear is standard 210 E55 spec but there were others (129?) which may have had an 8.5 wide.

Please confirm the rim style first!

ok, copied from the 2000 brochure:
W210
style II, 8 J disc x18 ET 31, tyre size 245/40, for front and rear axle B6 603 1007 £434.99
style II, 9 J disc x18ET 35, tyre size 275/35, rear axle only B6 603 1001 £464.97

R129
style II, 8 disc x18 ET 31, tyre size 245/40, front axle only, to 06/98 B6 603 1007 £434.99
style II, 9 disc x18 ET 35, tyre size 275/35, rear axle only, to 06/98 B6 603 1001 £464.97
style II, 8.5J spoke x18 ET 25, tyre size 245/40, B6 603 1003 £963.91

so the 210 and 129 shared the 8 front/9 rear but there was an 8.5 on the 129. Examine the rims but be aware that the part numbers I have listed are * accessory* numbers and potentially not what is stamped into the rims.

Awsome
Got a dilema.Getting rid of my 20" from my w140, want to go back to old school.I need to pick from amg and original 18" ronal from a coupe.
Will se when I will get there.
Thanks

These rims will not fit a W140! My brochure does not include the W140 I would have to refer to a paper copy!

As above...check the offset. You will need between 35 and 47 for a W140.

I had 3 w140's previously on amg monoblocks 2 8J front and 9J rear.I know r129 are even better fit.
Thank you for your help

I respect your real-world experience of this but in order to fit W140 wheels to a W210 requires spacers. The wheels you are talking about are likely to be from a 129 but if you know that they fit then that beats my book-knowledge! :D

Pics when they are on please, styling IIs are some of the best rims ever designed, makes me want to look out for some for my 208 ;)

Yes will do so.
I'm in "winter mode" now running 16" so amg's will get a nice refurb in a meantime and a set of conti sports 3 all around.
Cheers

It's not about how many 140s you had,it's about the alloys fit or not
As it's been mentioned ^ check the offset as you might end up refurbing a set that don't fit

I thought the 210 tyre size was 265/35/18 on the rear and 235/40/18 front?????

That's copy and paste from the 2000 AMG catalogue!

W210 E55 Wheels in the EPC:
Front : HWA1294010102
Rear : HWA2104010202

Note that the 8" wide rim again has a 129 part number indicating it originated on the 129 SL. Oddly I've not found it on the SL in the EPC but I've not finished yet.

I have a set of brand new, unused, AMG 18's that are specifically for the W140 if that is the car you intend to put them on?

Yes. These are the largest tyres that will fit inside the front wheel arch even with the rolled-lip arches on the AMG body-kit

I inadvertently got 245/40 fitted on the front and they rubbed in a rather dangerous manner. Fitter used a North America spec booklet, or W211.

W210/S210
8Jx18 ET31 tyre size 235/40ZR18 front
9Jx18 ET35 tyre size 265/35ZR18 rear axle only

It is possible that North America had higher ground clearance permitting wider tyres.
