18" wheels - 7.5" to 8.5" swap

Hi.

On my W203 C Class estate I currently have 18" x 7.5" AMG III wheels all round and am contemplating buying a pair of the same wheels but 18" x 8.5" for the rear.

Currently have Pirelli 225/40/18 on the 7.5" wheels and wondered what size tyre people are using on 18" x 8.5" rims.

I have stretched 225 over 8.5" width rims in the past, but it isn't the best look and leaves the wheels vulnerable.

Lastly, I assume that an ET of 30 on the rear 8.5" wheels will be OK. Do correct me if wrong.

Appreciate any thoughts.

255/35/18 will be the correct size tyre for you, same as for CLKs
