It was a homologation special - the aero body styling was purely functional in a typical MB fashion, however outrageous it may look

In racing form with increased power output and uprated suspension/brakes etc it was necessary.

No joke now that these road-going cars change hands for many tens of thousands of £££££s

Mind you, they sold out at launch anyway!

Only ever seen one on the road, in Belgium a couple of years ago:

Nice to see one actually being used, even if the owner did crunch it into the BMW as be reversed in (visibility looks a little tricky out the back..)
