My 190e 1988 has problems starting, engine misfires clears when revs to 3000 rpm anything less and misfires could this be associated with the fuel pump relay?

It won't be fuel as that would cause starvation at higher revs and load as more fuel would be consumed.

The fault sounds like an HT fault.

i had a similar problem on my 190e.

it was cured by replacing the spark plug leads.

i would also check the condition of the rotor and distributor cap and replace them if worn out.

:D

also check under the inlet manifold and look at the air / vaccumn lines (the little plasitc ones with rubber connectors) I had a similar problem with a 190 after doing a head swap, one line had split and engine wouldnt run at anything under 3000rpm.
