Hi,
I have recently been asked to fit new rubber seals to the headlamps of 190SL. When I removed the headlamp I found that the lens was held in with silicone and the clips that should be there were missing.
I bought a pack of new ones. When I came to fit them (which I thought would be a simple job) I found they were a nightmare, and would fly out as soon as you even look at them.
After 2 hours I managed to get 4 on. But when I came to fit the light back to the car, and touched the retaining screw on the rim they all flew off again.
So far I’ve spent 4 hours and lost 3 clips trying to fit them! Is there a special knack or some way of fitting them so that they stay in place.
