Hi Guys,

I have been trying to find a second hand or new drivers side ABS Sensor for my RHD 1982 380SL
Chassis WDA 10704522020094

CAN anyone help me cannot find anywhere just brought the car and need this to pass an MOT to enjoy????

Many thanks

Peter,

I read in this months edition of Classic & Sports Car magazine that these are NLA (No Longer Available) new and are only available second hand (eg from breakers)

I’m assuming you’ve tried the SL shop and they are unable to help?

The SL shop specialises in restoration of the R107

A video on ABS BRAKES trouble shooting. Common problems appear to be a build up of metal particles on the end of the sensor or breakage/ poor connection of the sensor wiring - this especially applies to front wheel sensor wires subject to flexing from suspension movement- if such a break is located it might be possible to effect a repair to the wiring? How have you narrowed down the fault to the drivers side sensor? ONE POSSIBLE TEST other than measuring sensor resistance would be to swap front sensors side to side [if interchangeable]- might help eliminate any wiring faults?

its listed for the early C107, C116,C123,C126 MODELS under section 54 electrical equipment -it appears to have a single fixing bolt unlike later ones which have 2
