1987 MB Unimog Camper Conversion. Might suit someone ?

I love to see overlanders of all types but a Unimog is top of the tree for me.
I saw quite a few Unimog campers on the Riviera this Winter. Usually German, and often marked up as being on a long distance “expedition.” Very odd compared to the usual motor homes and vans.

Perhaps making their way down through France and Spain and then crossing across to venture into Morocco, Africa, etc.

Even on UK campsites we occasionally see overlanders based upon Unimog and even Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer.

Strangely they often seem to be on NL plates. A Pinzgauer pitched next door to us once - they slept in a roof tent.

No roof tent needed if you have one of these:

Used to see a good few of these in the early 90’s on the Greek islands.

There was normally a couple of windsurf boards strapped to the roof and a monkey bike on a rack on the back. Always on Dutch plates as well.

Anywhere you go in the World, there always seems to be a car or camper with Dutch plates; I guess exploring is in their DNA.

There were loads in India in the early 90’s. Definite throwbacks from the hippy trail.
