Hello all, my 89 300SE has been unused for a month or so, I started it up the other day and left it idle, when I returned 10 min later it had cut out and refused to start. The same happed today except it did reluctantly restart but started to missfire 1 min later and cut out a minute later. The only thing I noticed was a buzzing sound coming from the ECU. Any ideas guys?

Check for condensation in (and the condition of) the distributor cap :)

Just to eliminate something, try idling it without the fuel filler cap on. Don’t know anything really about mercs and wether they can suffer from vacuum problems in the tank but I’ve worked on quite a few motors that have had this issue.
Hope you get it sorted.

Mike ,,Could be one of a number of engines , so it would be best to put the engine type in you post . Or even better in your profile .You will get more help if you tell us what type of engine is in your W124.
