Pricey?

Not in a million years, Just look at the condition!

Oh and considering its a 500 and with nobby nuts millage.

Stunning! How on Earth do people manage to keep car's in that condition? Even if it was kept locked up forever and cleaned every few months, I'd still expect the brightwork to look shoddy.

Im in absoulte awe. Its amazing.

Not being funny but 50k for it is more than reasonable. Somthing like that im sure would fetch far more no?

Who knows, still I'm sure there's someone willing to pay that much - which will in turn make it worth that much.

This is probably the kind of classic someone the likes of Jay Leno etc would want (and afford) - well, their UK equivalent that is.

I agree it's in fantastic condition, and only covering 900 miles is a bonus. But how many times has it been run up to temperature and then turned off whilst in the museum.

A great car but not worth that much in my opinion.

if its been properly stored (and by the right ppl who specialise) Ive heard that the most cared for cars go through some proper weekly/daily checks.

i.e. Stuff like windows are functioned up and down every couple of days, just to keep the grease/motors in check. Using that as an example given imagine what else they do!

i even heard that some specialist storage companies actually keep the cars off the ground?

not sure how much that is true though?

Cars used to be stored (during WW2 ) off the ground to preserve the tyres. But, that does not matter because tyres whether used or not, should be replaced at 5 years old.

Internet myth.

As long as the rubber hasn't degraded the tyres are fine. Those tyres look good, no cracks in the sidewalls or tread.

The six year recommendation is a storage recommendation only.

Odd that there's no pictures of it with the hood up - although given it was fully re-commissioned as they put it, I doubt there would be any surprises!

wow really lovely car, but 50k is a lot,

i dont know much about these cars (well cars in general) but i think 50k would get you a lot of motor, i know some people would argue that its a one off and you are not gonna find another like it and for a collector its worth every penny. but for me its too much!!!

wouldnt there be engine issues from such little use, things like seals and pipes etc and elec issues maybe!! i dont know im just asking if there would be, not that i could buy it, not in a million years!!!!!

Its definately worth 50K to someone as a museum piece... not to me though... It will drive exactly the same as mine and I buy my cars for driving and ownership pleasure...

Apparently jay leno has "a man' in Europe who checks out cars for him :)

You'd be better off spending a quarter of the asking price on a very nice one that you could drive every day.

Why not drive this one every day? Costs less to buy than a new SL or even top spec SLK.

The car isn't being sold "as delivered" - it's done 900 miles. So I would prefer to see that the tyres had been replaced as part of the "detailed recommissioning".

Given the mention of the car being kept in a dining room it's likely been standing in the same position for much of the 22 years. No way I would risk using those tyres.

For £49 K I would want new tyres and brake hoses as well as they are rubber and will crack as well

Because it's USP is the ultra-low mileage. Drive it every day and you'd quickly have a nice-but-ordinary R107 that had depreciated even faster than a new SL or SLK.
