My car is currently extremely poorly, and after consulting a local Bosch expert/Mercedes mechanic, he is almost 100% sure that the problem lies with the throttle actuator. He also hinted that a throttle actuator would be extremely expensive to replace...

After having a read around, I believe the 124's with M104 engines suffered from actuator problems and wiring harness rot which leads to poor idle response at low throttle ranges. That is one of the problems I am experiencing.

Unfortunately, I am unable to find a ballpark figure for the actuator.

Does anybody have a rough estimate how much a 300CE-24 throttle actuator would set me back?

Thanks in advance,

Antony

Have you tried phoning Dronsfields, The Garage etc or maybe V12 could answer you this one for you. How about Nick with his contacts at Mb Whitefield?

Well, after reading how these things could cost around £1000 new, I was delighted to hear that Dronsfield's have some at a mere £75 + VAT.

However, I am also lead to believe that a vacuum leak or a dodgy OVP Relay could also contribute to my idling problems.

The hunt continues...
