My unreliable-starter coupe is probably worth more worth more dead than alive so I have a 'breaking' thread too but I'm lazy and sentimental so I'd love to see this going to someone to fix it or swap a less temperamental engine into but I'm a realist so know these are just not as well loved as the W123s yet and the 24v M103/M104 ******* engine is pretty unpopular so this will end up stripped to the bones and the shell turned into chinese washing machines. C'est la vie...
The £700 price not fixed, it's just me ambitiously trying to get something back on the cost of the gearbox rebuild. PM me, I'll send you my number and you can talk to me, convince me you're going to restore life into a car I loved having and we can do a deal...
The highlights are:
Gearbox professionally rebuilt last year (£900), I have the invoice
Fully functioning electric black leather ortho front seats woth no rips or tears (photos below)
I have two new front wings in the correct colour that could go with the car if the deal is right
OEM white rear lenses, the others are cheapos
Bad bits:
No MOT, it expired in November. It had ran for a fortnight after letting me down in an embarrasing way so I booked the test and the effing thing wouldn't start. I rebooked the test three times, and the effing thing let me down each day.
It's an unreliable starter despite dizzy, coil, HT leads, various relays and other odds and ends having been checked and replaced. Seems to be characteristic of this engine based on threads on here. When it starts, the engine runs well and pulls like a train.
Exhaust needs attention, it hangs funny and blows but I have a spare back section that can go with the car.
