Hi all,
I am selling my 1990 C124 230ce Coupe. Its in original condition with only 102,000 miles, i bought it at 93,000 and it has been my daily driver over the last year and has never let me down. It has MOT till 28th April 2016 and i have all the old MOTs to verify milage.
It has the usual all electric windows, mirror, sunroof, zebrano wood interior, Black leather seats with no rips or tears, leather steering wheel, illuminated vanity mirrors, both seatbelt extenders work. It has the 15 inch alloys wheels and 4 dunlop sport blue response tyres plus an unused spare in the boot.
The engine is the duplex chain and its the non-cat version. Starts first time, no blue smoke or any thing like that. 4 speed switchable gearbox
Over the last year i have spent a lot of money on parts and replacing things (most of it preventative maintenance). I had planned on keeping it hence the extensive parts list below but my circumstances have changed and it needs to be sold to a good home.
Over the last year it has had 3 initial oil and filter changes at short intervals as means of flushing engine. Since then it has had 2 services the first one using 10w40 Mobil1 semi-synthetic and a bosch oil filter and the 2nd using 10w40 castrol magnatec and bosch oil filter. Other items have included:
new oil pan + gasket
new fuel filter
new air filter
new radiator
coolant flush and refill
new thermostat+gasket
new thermostat housing
transmission filter and fluid changed (inc draining torque convertor) synthetic
power steering flush, filter and fluid
new Bosch rotor arm
new Beru distributor cap
new Bosch ignition lead set
new Bosch Non-resistor plugs (H7DCO)
2nd hand OVP relay
x 2 engine mounts
gearbox mount
new valve cover gasket
new oil dipstick o-ring
new crankcase hoses to and from Idle control valve and into intake manifold
all 8 hydraulic lifters replaced
x 4 new Bosch fuel injectors
x 4 new injector seals
All fuses in fuse box replaced with new ones.
EZL ignition module removed and heat sink material renewed
New Fan temperature switch
New rear heated windscreen
New Passengers side window motor
New driver’s side window regulator
All interior dash bulbs replaced with original Mercedes bulbs
Various broken bits of interior trim replaced with original Mercedes trim
All the vacuum leaks i could find repaired (interestingly only 1 to economy gauge)
In the last 3-4 months:
x2 new lemforder front control arms
left and right tie rods
centre drag link
steering damper
idler arm bushing kit.
New x2 front coil springs with 1 bump springs pads
x2 new rear coil springs with 2 bump pads
Full 4 wheel alignment including front camber adjustment.
New rear copper brake pipes
New original Bosch fuel pump
New Water Pump
New Belt tensioner
new Bosch auxiliary belt.
New front flex disc (Febi Bilstein)
2nd electrohydraulic actuator valve (EHA) with x2 new original o-rings
New fuel pressure regulator
New coolant temperature sender switch.
New ignition barrel
Differential fluid change
New gun-sight bonnet star
The only negatives i can see are that it has a very slight wavy idle when in park sometimes after the engine is hot, i believe it needs a tune up (I don't have a CO analyser) especially since i replaced the EHA. Other than that there is some rust around the drivers side indicator and a little bubbling on the lower front edge of the drivers door. It has the 4 black wheel arches that i have also repainted.
Given what i have spent on the car and my original plans for it I am only looking for offers in the region of £2995, which is not a lot considering what you are getting and the milage. Any questions PM me and i will give you my mobile/personal email for any further questions.
I will have parts that i have replaced from the car on sale also including tools like the merc spring compressors, etc which i will post in the other classified section
