Hello All,
Can you help?
My 1992 190E was fitted with a mobile phone in early ’93 a Panasonic EB-KJ2605 all the wiring and the main box off electronics are still installed, the phone turns on and says something like "no network". It does not appear to have a SIM.
I know I could replace the above for a few quid with a modern mobile but I really like the old brick phone and would like to get it working again. Does anyone know if this is possible or of any company that can convert the current chip-in-box set-up to take a SIM card?
Thanks
Owen

Prolly an analogue handset - I'm sure it could be done somnewhere but probably not worth the cost.

If its analogue its about as useful as a housebrick since the networks were shut down several years ago... You can't convert it to use a current SIM, as the hardware will be obsolete and the handset will use proprietary protocols to communicate with the black box.

You could always bastardize it and turn it into a Pokia though ;)
