1994 280SL - How much

A client is offering me a 280SL, Light metallic blue mushroom leather, 45000 miles with FSH. With hardtop.

Likely to be £11,000.

Is this a fair price?

Is there anything specific to this model that I should look out for?

Soft top mechnaism has to be checked, electrics on early cars are dodgy - 280 is very under powered... Service history as with any other car is important.

I'd say nearer £10k - personally I wouldn't bother with the 280 - as a minimum the 320 or the earlier 300-24 if you want an early model.

Id also say that it's dear, without being biased. I am looking for around £17k/ £18k for my fully loaded '99 SL500 as a comparison
