Hi,
I think this may be a Huddersfield Garages supplied Hearse. They were the only UK hearse conversion to come with a Mercedes UK warraty as they were built on the ambulance chassis impoted from Germany rather than a cut and weld job.

I had one of these based on a 260E as my company car for a month when I worked at the garage. Was a great car as went quite quickly and no-one got in your way and the stereo was very load. Liked to play Nivana - Smells Like Teen Spirit! My friend liked to ride around in it too.

The next car after that was a factory 280E limo - turned heads when dropping my friends outside the cinema entrance and the car took up 2 car park spaces. Thank goodness I got as much fuel as I wanted as that thing guzzled petrol the way I drove it.
