1995 R129 SL320 Mille Miglia

Was there any interest the last time it was listed? I quite fancied a look.

There has been a lot more interest recently, this may be due to, i'm told there was a report given by a valuation guru that whether the R129 and W124 cars had done 50,000 miles or 150,000 miles and have full history they are the same value! My friends say I'm crazy to part with this as we have had the car from new, but I've personally run the car eight years through the good months and it's time for a change!

Been following this one for the last year (or more!)

If it wasn't so leggy I'd have been really keen, but I've got a thing for ultra low miles going on...

I kinda agree with this, however if it is a well maintained example what do those in the know think? Does this kind of mileage matter greatly?

Until I experienced running this car to over a hundred thousand miles I was only interested in cars under sixty thousand miles. Also a visit to the factory enlightened me to the durability of the pre '96 Mercedes Benz and the financial inability to build new models to these same standards. The engineers did say it is best not to let the car sit unused for more than a month, including operation of the soft top. Parts are more expensive, but require replacement less often. At these price levels there is zero depreciation regardless of mileage, they are worth more in parts!! No doubt in years to come I'll come back to an SL and would probably go for the 24v straight six.

Will take more pictures, forecast is looking good.

No disrespect, but the rust would put me off more than the mileage. Also given the choice I think a 500 makes more sense as a weekend car.

But looks nice and is fairly priced I think - good luck with the sale.

Really?

As someone who has just bought a full historied W124 300CE with 210k for £486, and a 206k mile E220 cabriolet, again with full history for £3200, I feel cheated!
