1996 c200 elegance

Hi all I'm new to the group. Recently became the owner of a 1996 c200
Love the car but have a couple of issues 1 the fuel gauge will not work jumps around as it pleases but the low level warning light still works.
2 the coolant light is constantly on but the water level is fine. Tried bridging the sensor but can't get the light out. I seem to remember someone saying its wired in with the washer pump any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi,
The coolant tank low level warning and washer fluid low level warning are wired in such a way that the failure of one switch can put the other ones light on.
I thought my coolant level switch had gone as the level was high yet I still had the warning light on, replaced the washer fluid level switch and everything was hunky dory.
The fuel tank sender units are known issue, mine used to regulary play up in a similar way to yours but when I changed to Esso Super Plus fuel it fixed it self within 50 miles or so, would go back to supermarket fuel and within a few hundred miles it would be playing up again.
