I have a e300 diesel 1996 w210 the car cut out on me and had to have a man look at it, he replaced the diesel spill off pipes and the car started and ran for 2 day without a problem, then it cut out again. the same person came out to the car and the diesel pipes were full of air so we tried to turn the car over to let it bleed it out and it stated and ran for about 30 seconds then cut out. The starter motor just started making a clunking noise and not turning the engine over. Has anybody got any suggestions before I put it on ebay as anone runner, Kind regards Mark

Search this forum for 606 engine air in diesel pipes - there's lots of info

If you've broken the starter motor you have made your life much more difficult. But you may just have a flat battery

When one of these cars gets air in the diesel pipes you probably won't be able to start it from the battery. You'll need another car to jump-start it
