1997 C180 - squeaky brakes

Hi guys n gals, new to the forum, will no doubt have more interesting posts later, but let's start with this.

£1300 for my 1997 C180, Partial Service History, signs of it's age, but a nice drive and value for money.
But the squeaky brakes are doing my nut in!
Is this common, or due to wear/bad parts?
How much to replace?

pads probably need anti squeel grease put on the back of them, that should sort it

as alps has said copper grease to back of pads and then if not new PADS

The reason for squeeky brakes is not often lack of brake grease but crap quality pads, and lipped discs are the most common cause.
