'Issues'

The dreaded early-build W210 corrosion problem that's been widely discussed and publicised has been dealt with on this car by Mercedes-Benz themselves : in July 2002 the car had an all new front sub-frame structure, 4 brand new door panels, 2 new front wings and a new bonnet, all painted in to match, and in May 2003 it further had a new tailgate with the rear ¼'s blended, and the bonnet was given a further paint and lacquer coat. I inspected this work in progress and have formal written confirmation from DCUK to vouch for it.

The car is in very good condition for her age and mileage, both because the remedial work was done and because I look after it carefully. The colour combination of dark metallic green and the cream interior looks superb, especially when polished up. She drives, pulls and brakes very well, is economical to run, easy to drive and manoevre, and really is a fantastic, adaptable, thoroughly modern car. Carrying 7 people in comfort - even the rear-facing seats are ok for adults - she holds huge amounts of stuff when needed, and yet also acts as the quintessential arrive-in-style Mercedes-Benz every time !

This car has been a complete pleasure to own, especially given DCUK's support over the rust issue. However there are the following few points to note :

1. The engine shows some slight oil seepage, which is being closely monitored : it may need a new gasket but is not sufficiently serious to warrant doing such work yet.
2. The air-conditioning was recently re-gassed but it failed to last : there's a small hole in one of the hoses at the front of the engine bay but I've not paid to have this fixed again. It can be done at c. #8356;200
3. There are some exterior stone-chip / in-use paintwork nicks and scratches, with several on the rear plastic fender by the tailgate sill.
4. There are some parking rub marks on the front plastic fender corners, but they're not too bad.
5. The alloys are not pristine, with some lifting of the lacquer and some kerbing - they do wash and clean up well however.
6. The interior is very clean - kept like that by myself with regular leather feed and valeting, and recently fully carpet cleaned prior to this sale.
7. The car is currently not being used, in preparation for sale, but is on the road, fully taxed and insured.

I'm based in Brussels from Monday to Friday but if you're interested, please e-mail me or 'phone Leicester 0116 292 1922 at the weekend : here are some photos ...
