The legendary model in the body of the W140, produced from 1991 to 1998, was a symbol of power, luxury and reliability. This car remains popular and desirable even now.
Less well-known, but much more desirable is the Brabus 7.3 S car, which is built by a tuning studio based on a Mercedes 140 body. The list of alterations that the legend was subjected to is huge. Specifications of Mercedes-Benz W140 7.3S BRABUS The engine was wasted from 6.0 to 7.3 S liters. The power eventually amounted to 582 horsepower. Acceleration to 100 kilometers per hour takes 4.9 seconds . The maximum speed is 305 km/h. The result is impressive even by today's standards. And if we take into account that this is an atmospheric engine, then everything is doubly surprising. For such power, the braking system had to be changed. The Alconc system with forced cooling and a modified ABS system was used. In the body of the W140 7.3S Brabus had a modified exhaust, gearbox and suspension. When working with the suspension, the engineers had a very difficult task. They needed to make a car that perfectly holds the road at speeds over 300 km/h and at the same time has a very soft, comfortable suspension.
A high quality W140 when Mercedes long time ago was an awesome manufacturer and the car improved to be even better in the hands of Brabus.
Those days are now over!
We used to have a member on here with one of these many years back, nautic blue IIRC. Saw it at one of the early MB Club GTGs at Maff’s office/business place - cool cars in their time
