Hi,

I have this probelm with my heater blower which has come up recently. It suddenly stops working and there is no air or motor working when I select the different fan speeds.

I took off the cover of the motor and gave it an old fashioned kich and it started working again.

Now the funny thing is, if the car is switched on, it will keep on working but when I switch the engine off and restart, it stops working. I gues its not the voltage regulator because a kick wouldnt make it work so it leaves me with the motor itself. i bought a used one recently but want to find out if it is worth putting in?

Is it the fan? The reuglator? Should I install the second hand fan?

so two options then::

1- Install the second hand motor (which I already have) OR
2- Buy new brushes, but I thought the brushes are hard wired into the motor, any ideas on how to replace them on the motor?

Any idea on how to replace the brushes?

how easy is it to get to the motor.i have the c180 elegance auto model

get the brushes from ebay with postage and packing just under £8 but need a good soldering iron to fit them
