Under 23000 miles. Looks good. Pricey?

Looks very nice, I wouldn't worry about the low miles if it's been maintained properly.
I can't see it ever gaining much value as so many were made with most still going strong, they'll never be rare.

It's nice enough, but as the R129 is so well made and durable, is it worth paying twice what a really nice average-low mileage one would be? It's only a number on the odometer at the end of the day

Yes but that has AMG split rim wheels, AMG kit etc etc and seems to also be a rare colour. Plus it all depends on who was there on the day.

There have been several excellent cars I've missed out on at sensible prices. They just don't stay on the market long.
