Hi, my w202 v6 has an oil leak which appears to be getting worse. it looks to be coming from just under the oil cooler at the front of the engine. a little plate held in place by 2 bolts.
is this a common area to leak and is there a gasket or o ring ?

thanks, matthew

2x o rings between oil cooler and oil filter housing
1x large seal at the base of the oil filter housing
A square seal in a small alloy plate below the oil filter housing (it has a little Allen key bolt in it.

Change all of these and you should be sorted.

hi, yes i took my old c240 aprt to see what was what and it indeed looked like it was the plate with the allen key bolt in it. the one from my c240 was in much better shape so i used that.
will go to the dealers tomorrow and get all the seals and keep them for when i do the oil change.
thanks for the reply.

all 3 seals for £36 quids?
that's kinda cheap.

from my local stealership seals cost a lot more than £36 quids
