Would you not know if someone was sitting next to you?

I know I am missing the point, forgive me, but what is that for?

Its if you have the mercedes child seat fitted it will not deploy the side and front passenger airbags.

Its not a james bond ejector seat as it sounds like ...

Ohh , and im drueling at the throught of owning a c43

OT:

I am missing the Interior section to my handbook (I will order when I remeber during parts opening hours).

Could someone tell me what the "Airbag Off" button does (no funny answers&#33 and how it is activated?

Obviously it switches the airbag off, but all or which ones?

How do you activate? The button does not depress and the light only comes on for a second whilst the ignition is turned.

Anyone know why it was introduced on the later W202 models (it was not on my '98 C200)?

I think the 'Airbag Off' light, near the window switches is just a warning light that comes on as a check at startup.

I am not a 100% sure but if a OE baby seat is used on the passenger seat, then the light remains lit. Looking at mine there is a connector under the passenger seat where the baby seat connects to.

My car had the interior section of the handbook missing when I bought it, the MB garage tell me they have got one on order, so I am stilling finding things out too.

Yup , when the OEM babyseat is used in the front , the airbag is switched off and the light stays on and it chimes for about 10 seconds.

In the a class , ther is a small red plug under the pass seat to switch it off when the seat is removed.

New technology i think is the answer why its not on all of them .

On the new e class , it does not deploy airbags where people are not sitting and it measures the weight of the person in the seat and varies the force accordingly.

Wow, now I'm really impressed. (Like the baby would be in a lesser car)

There may be some wait. I ordered one today (£3) but was told it was not avaiable in the UK and a back order of about 500 copies has to be waited for until a re-print will take palce.

You can buy a better spec. C32 now for approx. £5,000 less!!!!

Billy,

This has been on my "future" shopping list for a while now but when was the last model C43 made? do you know??
Is the C32 a far superior car, obviously being the later model it has all of the updated goodies but I can't stretch to that, so I'm sure the C43 is a good catch.
Also I would want the estate version which is like rocking horse XXXX as the saloon 202C boot is as about good for my wifes make-up kit!!!

I think the last ones were made in 2000??, mine was a 1999 but didn't have the tiptronic g.box which came out later.

The C43/C32 are two totally different animals, one is a big engined saloon, the other a nimble powerhouse.

The 43 is an excellent car & I enjoyed every minute with it.

The saloon I had had folding rear seats!

What are "MB Audio 10" and "MB Audio 30" considering the CD-Changer and BOSE sound system are listed separatley?

What do you have if you deleted the Ashtray?

Where does the Fire extinguisher go?

Has anyone got the Parktronic? Is the parktronic just an audiable alert or was there a display?

Believe the MB Audio 10 was just an indash head unit - don't know if this meant Cd or tape (I believe that on E-Class's + CLK's you could get the Audio 10 as either tape or CD). From what I remember the Audio 30 was just an upmarket CD(?) version of the Audio 10

The Parktronic system had the LED displays, just like the version on any other W202

The main problem with buying a C43 seems to be finding one (especially the estate) - the Merc used cars web site only has 1 C43 for sale (at my local dealer in Milton Keynes, as it happens), and that's a saloon. I've kept my eye out for a while, and the newest C43 i have ever seen was a 2000 X reg, although I guess it's possible some might have been registered later.

Ed.

Where did the Parktronic LED's go?

Big Ed. - As you mention you live in MK, this is worth a shot:

I saw a very nice Azurite Blue W202 the other day in MK which caught my eye. I think it was a T reg like mine.

It had black leather and the black wheel arch trims like some of the AMG's had, and the small OEM mudflaps.

Is this you by any chance???

Afraid it wasn't me - mine's W reg, got grey leather, and is not customised at all - still, it sounds likE you saw a nice motor!

I believe there are 3 Parktronic LED's, 2 in the strip along the top of the dash (1 in the nearside corner, and 1 in the middle of the strip - there might be on on the drivers side, I can't remember) The other LED is in the center of the rear window edge of the roof lining (anyone can feel free to correct me here - I'm comparing them to the pictures in the W202 C class brouchure, and those in the CLK I drove a couple of weeks back).

Parktronic seems quite cool - I managed to get a warning beep from front sensors on the CLK430 when braking hard coming into a roundabout with a steep camber - I think it was telling me off!!!

mb10 is the single cd or single tape

Mb30 is a single tape with a full numeric keypad for operating the factory fit phone.

I have never seen a 202 witht he bose sound system , but , would love it in my car . If a car has got it , the speakers on the rear shelf have a small bose sign on them.

when the ashtray is deleted you get a 12v socket and a hige cubby hold lined in the same material as the glovebox

Fire extinguisher goes under the drivers seat.

there are two displays and a bing for parktronic(k) the displays are where the air vents for the windscreen are on the two flats the front in the middle and the rear on the offside.

hope that helps
