Hi can anyone tell me if the W210 E55 wings are a specialist item or a standard W210 wing but with the arches rolled out.
Thanks
Ken

Can anyone just confirm that the arches are just rolled, as went to Merc reading today for a brake light switch & just for a laugh I asked about price for wings.
I came away more confused than before as Merc has a totally different part number for the AMG wings, but could it just be one is rolled & the other just a stock unrolled wing.
Now when we're saying rolled is the arch rolled/flared or just rolled on the inside lip :confused::confused::confused:

Standard with rolled arches.

+1. No flare

I did a light refurb on my car with a bit of paint to make it presentable and can confirm it's just rolled arches, but make sure they are fully rolled like the ones on the car now otherwise depending on the make of tyre, it will make contact on certain road / conditions with spirited driving. That's with standard ride height & tyre size.

I think I replied to another thread of yours regarding this. You certainly get what you pay for & we all have a budget to work to.

Phew that's a relief coalville as I've found a pair of really good 99 wings in my colour but didn't want to get them if they were no use as the cash would be needed to help pay for the dealers ones.:thumb::thumb:
You did mention them in my post about facelift mirrors.....

You actually found a pair of used rust-free W210 wings?!

I've not had much success in getting arches rolled on other cars in the past as the paint always seem to crack - especially when it's folded back on itself like on our cars. Get the folded lip filled with Waxoyl or your choice of rustproffing treatment.

Ah I didn't say rust free :D but it has just started to bubble on the arch inner lip on the N/S one & the O/S has got a small bubble patch on the lip from under the headlight round for maybe 3 inch's but it's all solid just scabbing.
I think the way to stop the paint cracking when rolling is to slightly warm the paint with a hot air gun.

Ahh, tried that - or should I say the guys who did it for me warmed the area up first, but they did say it all depended on the quality / type of paint & age of it. There wouldn't guarantee there won't be any damage. I paid about £80 a pair, but that was a few years ago.
