1999 E240 Avantgarde in Silver 144k miles

this car is only for sale because I have too many cars and I have to get rid of one, I have 2 Audi Avants (1 of which is an RS6) a 1995 BMW325i coupe and a 1973 TR6 (project) and this Merc

amazing spec on this car
auto dimming mirror
electric memory seats
air con
chiller inside front centre arm rest
electric rear blind
untouched/original first aid bag in rear centre arm rest
cup holders in rear centre arm rest
central locking
power steering
front airbags
power windows
head lamp wash wipe
massive history file

I bought the car from a member on here about 2 years ago I think, he was the second owner and the car had been serviced from new at the same Mercedes Benz dealer (reading)

when I bought the car it needed a big service, Mercedes quoted me 800 quid (I think) so sent it to my Mate a indy Mercedes specialist in Sidcup (he is on here) Wright Tech he gave the car a full once over and carried out a bunch of work on it for me including the service

the car has sat parked up for about a year or so (I have been driving my RS6), it starts first time and drives beautifully

everything works

the only problem (which the previous owner conveniently forgot to mention to me) is that the battery drains if not used daily) he knew about this as he said he had it sat in his Garage on trickle, I assumed that was just good practise on a car of this age, anyway if you leave it for several days (which I did every week as I commute into central London) the battery will drain

HOWEVER if you drive it daily this wont be a problem, In the beginning I had greenflag come out a few times to get it going again and they checked that the car is charging the battery when running, it is, I just disconnect the battery now when I don't need the car, the battery on the car is new and never been jumped started (I ruined the previous battery by jumping all the time)

I will put an MOT on the car

this car has so many miles left in it and I really would like to see it go to someone who can put it back on the road and use it daily, its such a lovely old car,

it has some rust bubbles on the rear arches but nothing major and some other dings here and there, but in general the body work looks amazing for its age and cleans up well

if I could store it I would,

seriously, cant believe nobody has made me a descent off on this

just read the spec list, this is a great car, sure needs a little tlc but if given the love it needs would go on for years and years

anyway, if no sensible offers for the car in the next day or 2 its going for scrap
