Can any body tell me the Valve timing on the cosworth.
Does the valves open at 10 degrees before top dead center or 10 degrees after TDC,or any other way.
.

depends on which valves, but if you mean when does the inlet valve open it will be before TDC and the exhaust valve will close after the inlet valve opens.

This is referred to as Overlap.

Aren't there any timimg referrence markers?

Yeah there is timing marks but i read about the 10degrees b4 or after tdc for the inlet valve set up and wondered if it applyed to the cosworth .

Inlet and exhaust cams are identical.

The sprocket bolts are offset so you shouldn't get them mis-aligned.

Set the engine to TDC on cylinder #1 using the marker on the crank pulley and line the two cams up so that the reference dots are opposite each other in the middle.

This should be what you need.

Turn the engine over very carefully using a socket or spanner to check that all is well before you finish up.

HTH,

Will
