That's just been reduced. Was £7995 before.

It's a good'un for sure, not 100% keen on the colour myself however.

When he finds the right buyer, he'll probably get close to his asking price.

Genuine, cared for 2.5-16s with under 100k are like hen's teeth now.

Slightly off topic, but why do they always get advertised as Cosworth's?

Having grown up outside the UK, I never saw them being refered to as Cosworth, and as far as I know Mercedes never sold them as such. In France and Switzerland they get called "2.3-16V" and "2.5-16V" among Mercedes enthusiasts, but the name Cosworth is never mentioned.

I'm aware that Cosworth did some magic on the engine, but unless it's different for the UK market I don't believe they were ever badged as such by MB when they were sold?

You're 100% correct.

MB never advertised the fact that Cosworth had been involved in the design, nor were they ever badged or sold with any reference to that.

But owners who were well aware of the Motorsport link to these cars have been referring to them with that name for years.

There are 'COSCAST' casting marks on the cylinder heads however :)

have always liked the colour .. looks to be in pretty good nick too

Probably a 'being British' thing.

To a lesser extent there's something similar with the 150PS Vauxhall 2.0 16v engine - known as the 'red top'. The early models came with a cast Cosworth head, which is very desirable within Vauxhall circles.
