2 din stereo head unit in a W210

Dear all, I have a 1998 W210. I am thinking to install the command system wooden panel and the back support. But instead of install the command system, I would like to install a 2 din stereo head unit.
Would anyone tell me if this will work?
I am wondering if someone had done this before and can share us a picture.

there is no reason why it wont work , what model stereo were you thinking of?

Isnt that an awful lot of work installing the 2 din frame without just installing comand while youre at it

I still don't know which stereo is good for an E class, I don't want something too cyber look, i guess. Any suggestion?
The wooden panel is very expensive from the MB dealer, is there anywhere I can get it cheaper?
