Hi all I have a 2010 eclass 2 door which has only 2 seats in the back, we are expecting our 3rd child, does anyone know if the rear from a 4door with the 3 seats would fit into the 2 door rear thanks all

I can't imagine it will...2 door coupe is based on the 204 C Class body... not the 212 saloon....I looks a lot tighter in the back of the coupe than my 212 saloon.

Thanks for the reply I did think it wouldn't but was worth a try haha

Probably would not fit and if it did there would likely be no seat belt anchorage points. Type approval/insurance would be compromised if you tried to retrofit them.

There's a video on youtube, apparently drilling the chassis to fit anchorage points, or to fit a roll cage etc, is a modification that should be reported and will end up with the car re-registered on a Q plate.
Having said that, they point out the number of rally cars driven on public roads that are not Q plates and put that down to no one reporting they've fitted them.

How many rear seats in a c class 4 door , w204 ??

I recall seeing a youtube vlog where the couple have 4 young children and had a 4 in a row seat made,
I'm not sure how they were anchored and the firm makes 3 in a row as well

IIRC the vlog is called 'Dadscars' or something like that, - he is a bald chap with a beard and has 4 young kids

The AMG MB models from the ones I've seen been in are 4 seaters ie cls and c class.

Adding seat belts is not one of the reasons for a car to be on a Q plate.

The DVLA only issue Q plates where a cars age or identity is in doubt.....not just for modifications.

I beg to differ, I'm led to believe any modifications to the chassis affect type approval, once you no longer have type approval, your're onto a Q plate, if you go by the book, of course.

Maybe....but the section of the DVLA website about Q plates mentions nothing about a cars type approval being affected by mods getting a Q plate with the exception if importing a non Euro type approved vehicle... which will get a Q.
Pretty much any non factory mod to any car won't have been type approved......

It works on a points system, you need 8 points to keep the original registration. The original chassis, unmodified is worth 5 point itself.
Depends on your mods how many points they will give it, but without reaching 8 points in total, you're on a Q reg.

So again...adding seats or sear belts wont affect it.....as proven by the above posts.

There aren't many passenger cars (2-door coupe or otherwise) that can take 3 child seats on the rear seat.

I think you're heading in the direction of a 7-seater.
