Don't know about Castrol, but the equivalent Mobil recommended oil for your SLK55 is Mobil 1 New Life 0W-40 (MB-Approval 229.3; MB-Approval 229.5)

Not surprised because last time I looked the Castrol pricing (4 Litres) was pretty much identical to Mobil 1 offerings (5 litres), which last time I looked were:



Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel 0w40 (MB229.5) 5 Litres £29.98 inc. VAT

Mobil1 New Life 0w40 (MB 229.51) 5 litres £29.98 inc. VAT

So now they are in line, £6 per litre as as near as makes no difference
