2000 CLK 230k esp/bas problem

Hi I've been having trouble with my esp/bas light coming on intermittently, seems that if I go really slowly thru the gears (not going above 2000 rpm) I can sometimes stop the lights coming on (although engine management light is permanently on), if I get up to 3rd gear the problem stays away and I can drive all day without any problems, but if it comes on then it goes into limp mode!!! Had garage put it on STAR and had a lot of faults come up............

Mechanic reckoned it was maybe the esp controller/bas pump? he cleaned it out and it seemed fine for the first day........now its came back on and he reckons the unit may need replaced which could be costly............does anyone know of decent 2nd hand suppliers?

Also I cant get the roof down because for some reason my boot light is constantly on..........but i can open the boot fine with the button and the keyfob?
