Have recently replaced the standard paper units in the Sl with Hertz ESK 163 L's. the head unit is an Alpine 9853.
1st Install wasnt great, I lost the guys details I wanted to use originally (Sound Secure) and let another company do the job. (Sound Evo) Big Mistake.
It sounded horrendous, clipping heavily and distortion over the slightest volume. i thought the head unit was duff as it didnt sound great before.
Luckily I found the guys details and he kindly rewired all the speakers and crossover correctly and added acoustic matting behind the drivers units and importantly disconnected the Amp that sits behind the passenger seat unit.
Mike then set all the crossover setting and time delay on the head unit and Wow. God what a transformation. 3D sound. Amazing.
And I am a hifi nut.
Mike at Sound Secure I salute you. He spent 5 hours rewiring and reversing a poor install and only charged me £150. He also replaced my Aerial whcih only went up half way for £65.
