I'd like to upgrade my front speakers with a set of components I have lying around, the problem is that the Bose system uses 2 ohm speakers (from what I gather) and my components are 4 ohm. Would I achieve an acceptable result if I just changed the speakers and left the rest as is?
The second thing I wanted to address is to add an aftermarket amp to drive the front components. I read that the connection to the Bose amp is D2B/fibre optic and if I remove it, it will also affect other systems?
I've also heard that the amp outputs a high level signal that isn't full range, so I can't just whack a line converter in there and make it work. How true is this?
What are my options for replacing the bose amp?
Is there an interface available that let's me retain functionality?
Is there a way to add in a signal processor in between the head unit and Bose amp?
Thanks guys!
