2001 CLK Alarm A208

Can anyone help I have a CLK 2001 A208 and the lights keep flashing and occasionally the alarm will sound and if I unlock it to stop the lights flashing after a few seconds it locks itself. Has anyone else had this problem and also which side and where is the alarm I have read several things and they all say something different

Sounds like the symptoms of a dying siren to me. The way to stop the car locking itself is to open a door after you've pressed unlock, otherwise it will just keep locking and arming again. The siren should be the same place as on a W202; left hand front, sort of behind the fog lamp. You'll have to take the wheel arch liner out to access it.
