Ok so I haven't had the car long so not sure if I should worry but the whole car lowers itself when standing for a period of time (overnight etc).
Now as soon as I start the car the pump kicks in and it inflates the struts to normal driving height and if I press the raise button it displays the car raising message on the dash for 10-20 seconds then goes off so it's not a specific corner dropping and the car raises when started so should I worry ....

it's got an air leak somewhere.

Mine has does the same for ages and since it's just had a new airmatic pump fitted, I'm starting to address this issue.

Now where to start trying to find the leak then as its all 4 corners is it a leak before the valve block do you think

I'm not sure.

I'm trusting it to my local Indy and he's fitting new ends to all the airlines first. My valve block appears to be OK.

If the new ends don't sort it then the car is getting new airlines.

If you refer to this link you'll see it's a pretty simple system (apart from the electronic wizardry)

Pneumatic/Hydraulic Components

Cheers for the link will have a look when I am next under it i have been looking for a local Indy but still no luck in the midlands will spark up a new thread try to find a local indy

For leaks check the strut tops and the pump pipework. Very common to leak. The strut tops crack and the pipes rub away.

Go and see John at WDM (Perry Barr) he's the best MB tech I've ever dealt with and sorted my S500 when it's airmatic played up.

how much is air matic pump

£280 iirc.

When fitted it will need calibration with a Star.
