I have a vito which appears to be goinng into limp home mode, when I start the vehicle it runs ok in 1st and 2nd gears but when I change to 3rd and rev past 3000 revs it cuts back and subsequently will not rev beyond 3000 in any gear. I have had the van checked out at a mercedes garage and they cant figure it out. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

First guess says the EGR valve isn't working, then either a boost control pipe is loose or the MAF is on the way out. All can be easily checked.
