Hope im posting in the right place being a noob and all that,I have a problem with my SL55 front suspension struts - both bottom bushes/ball joints where they attach to track control arms have serious play in and according to mercedes are an unservicable item and hence im expected to pay £1070 (a side!!) to rectify this  Are they correct or is there any way i can press the bushes out and fit aftermarket items? many thanks to anyone who can enlighten me,cheers simon

Well, I can confirm the dealer is telling the truth about the bottom bush in the hydropneumatic suspension struts. I have checked on EPC and there is no repair kit for the bushing.

Sorry I couldn't give you good news :(

There might not be a repair kit available from MB but there may be one from GSF or Euro Car Parts. I had a similar problem on the control arm bushes on my E55, it was in pieces at the MB dealer so I had little choice other than to let them do it. They relieved me of over £1400! I found out after that I could have bought the bush kits from GSF and had them pressed out at my local garage. Worth checking with GSF first.

Don't forget to get the tracking/alignment done afterwards.
