Thats why I'm thinking of changing my W203 for another car soon as I will still get a decent price for it.

I'm going mad and looking at getting a facelift Nissan 350Z! Always loved the look of these.

No need to guess about residuals - just check today's prices for 8 year old C classes and that will be your top end figure given that used car depreciation is on an upward curve.

And I think you'd struggle to find one worth anything like 7-8k. In fact I'm surprised that a 2002 C180 is as much as 12k, that sounds high.

Thanks for your advice gents!

I reckon that i'll take GAP RTI for 5k.

That way i won't have to put much out, if anything, if the car does get written off in the next 4 years.
