2003 W203 upgrade options for new owner

Hi all,

This is my first post. I have just purchased a 53 plate C180 Avantgarde SE estate. I get the car Thursday coming. It is brilliant condition with only 43k on the clock.

I would like to know about stereo upgrade options, what are the differences between audio 10, 20, 50 etc. Could I get the comand unit and just plug it in. I would like to keep the oem look of the dash and am not keen on aftermarket look on this type of car.

COMAND isn't quite plug 'n play, there is a bit of coding required. Have a read on this site.

Comand 2 (which is what your car could have) can fairly easily be added without any wire chopping/splicing. To do it properly though and have the navigation instructions show up in the cluster a little coding with star is needed.
