Roof unserviceable, diagnosis outer left piston snapped in two!

Hi, Replacement piston has arrived the problem is WIS says open the roof to proceed with the swap out. With the piston gone the roof no longer operates so you assume you can open the roof manually. On the previous model you used a special key as per the description in the owners manual on this model there is now easily identifiable procedure to open the roof manually certainly nothing in the owners manual. Has anyone ever opened this particular model manually?

Cheers, Howard.

It's definitely in the owners manual on mine - a bit of a palaver too.
There is also at least one video on youtube

You will need the rubber 'hooks' to pull the rear deck back.....

It is also in my handbook but not easy to understand, or am I just a bit thick?

No, it's not easy to understand - I hope I never need to do it.
Can't find the vid on youtube but they make it look easy.

Edit:This might help.

Thanks, downloaded a handbook and found the instructions. Now released the bolt under fluid holder we're pulling on the two straps for blue murder! Rear not popping! Any ideas?

All done!
Vehicle had the two additional locks right and left. Pull those forward slightly turn half a turn then pull on the straps with the boot closed and it all pops up.
Thanks for all the help.

Which locks are they?

Just in case i ever need to do it?

Paranoid? Me?

Handy to have a copy of these instructions in the car and just hope it is not starting to rain heavy and you have someone to help you to get the roof up.

I keep a plastic dust sheet folded up in the boot. Fits under the boot floor just fine.

You never know......
