2003 W211 E270 CDI autobox disaster - Help!

Urgent help needed please!

The gearbox on our automatic 2003 W211 E270 CDI seems to have died. When I put the car into drive (or reverse), the car drives for a feet or two, and then stops, as if it has popped back into neutral (although the gear lever is still in D (or R)). The engine revs with the accelerator, but the car does not move. If I switch the car off and restart after a few minutes, the same thing happens again.

I am guessing this is a major gearbox problem. Can someone please recommend a reliable independent MB specialist in North London to take the car to? The car is in East Finchley but can be towed to the garage.

Thanks. I am in a bit of rush as far as time is concerned, so the quickest solution is probably to take it to an indy MB specialist. Any suggestions of one in North London?

I had the same problem with my E211 320 CDi and got it fixed by a dealer.. Cost was just under £600... ouch..

this is disaster,
automatic gearbox 722,626 (engine 613.961). check electronic diagnostic all ok :bannana:
